The Exhibition Complex
Munich is a leading scientific, technical and cultural center. There are several modern exhibition facilities in the city and its vicinity. The Messe München exhibition center is one of the largest in Europe. Trade shows and other events are held in 16 modern and spacious halls with a total area of 180 000 square meters (about 2 000 000 sq. ft.). Of course, the exhibition complex is fully equipped in line with the current requirements for technology and service. The events held by producers from around the world are real showcases of modern science and technology, manufacturing and consumption. They cover engineering, construction, transportation, electronics, food processing, jewellery, tourism industry and more. Every year, 2 million visitors attend dozens of different events here.
Getting there
The easiest way to get to the Messe München exhibition center is by subway. Take the U2 line in the eastern direction and get off at one of the last two stations, Messestadt West or Messestadt Ost. The exhibition complex covers a total area of more than 500 000 square meters (about 125 acres) and has 3 entrances: Eingang West, Eingang Ost and Eingang Nord. Check in advance the location of the event you are interested in and find out which entrance/exit is the closest to it. For those who are coming by car, large parking lots are located near the northern and eastern gates of the exhibition compound. Note that some events take place in another exhibition center, “MOC Veranstaltungscenter München” located in the northern part of the city. It can be reached by subway line U6, stop “Kieferngarten”.
